Inside Bulgaria's Easter Celebrations: Traditions Passed Through Generations
Today marks the joyous celebration of Easter, one of the most significant holidays in the Orthodox Christian calendar.
Gabriela Yordanova, 12, will sing for Bulgaria at the Junior Eurovision song contest this November.
Yordanova was picked on Tuesday evening by both the jury and viewers who voted by sending text messages.
Bulgaria came second in last year's junior contest, but the winner Italy declined to host the 2015 edition and Sofia was offered the opportunity to organize it.
The event will take place on November 21, 2015, at the Arena Armeec hall in Sofia.
So far Gabriela has been able to win a number of awards at musical contests in countries such as Italy, Romania, Belarus, and Hungary.
The song she will perform at Eurovision, however, is yet to be chosen "at a later date internally," a press release reads on the contest's website.
As in the previous year, Junior Eurovision is being co-organized by the Bulgarian National Television (Bulgaria's public broadcaster) and bTV, one of the two biggest private national stations.
