The Ukraine ceasefire agreement reached overnight by the leaders of France, Germany, Russia and Ukraine is “the first and most important step towards stopping the bloodshed”, Bulgaria’s Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov said on Thursday.
“I welcome the agreement between the leaders in Minsk,” Mitov said in a statement.
He also said he hoped the deal, announced after 17 hours of talks in Belarus’ capital, will be respected by all countries, and this will lead to a lasting peace in Ukraine.
“This is important for all its citizens, including our compatriots, who have the right to live in a free and safe country,” the Bulgarian Foreign Minister said.
