Corporate Commercial Bank (KTB) majority owner Tsvetan Vasilev's lawyer Konstantin Simeonov said Wednesday the murder of his client has been ordered from Bulgaria and is now in preparation.
Simeonov told private national channel NOVA TV that the people hired to carry out the order "are not from here".
Vasilev's lawyer reminded he had submitted a request in September that the detention measure imposed on Vasilev in Bulgaria be revoked so that the businessman could return to Bulgaria and put effort to rescue KTB while also providing assistance to magistrates.
"I proposed that the restrictions be dropped so we can work on the trial. But now we will have to wait for the extradition," Simeonov explained.
He added the Interpol arrest warrant issued July 28 should be revoked if Vasilev is to return to Bulgaria.
Simeonov reiterated his client's claim that Delyan Peevski, a Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) lawmaker, is behind the developments at KTB.
Tsvetan Vasilev was placed on a recognizance order by a Serbian court on September 17.
