Center-right GERB is tipped to win Bulgaria's snap elections on Sunday but also to fall short of a majority, Euronews wrote Thursday.
In a report titled "Disillusioned Bulgaria set to vote for fifth government in two years", it says that GERB, "led by a former bodyguard", could even have to reach out to socialist opponent BSP for support in passing legislation.
Bulgarians are "fed up with voting for the same faces again and again without their lives improving," the text reads.
A new period of political instability could even worsen the situation, preventing leaders from pushing through reforms in the pension system, attracting foreign investment and addressing the "bank crisis".
Euronews cites forecasts suggesting GDP is expected to go up only 1.5 percent, while neighboring Romania's projected growth is at 2.2 percent.
The next elected cabinet will have to face "the country's worst financial crisis since 1990s, which saw two large banks hit by runs on deposits in June," according to Euronews, which adds it is unclear whether the bank will be rescued with taxpayer money or authorities will let it collapse.
Other crucial tasks will be to fix finances in energy, a purpose for which prices will have to be kept "higher", and to convince Parliament to allow it more debt in order to tackle the fiscal deficit and ensure stability in the banking system.
