New Russian Missile Attacks in Ukraine
Ukraine finds itself once again under fire from Russian missiles, marking a new wave of violence in the region
Leaders from across the world have welcomed the agreement achieved between Iran and the G5+1 regarding the Iranian nuclear program.
The agreement between Iran, the US, UK, France, Russia, China, and Germany was concluded in Geneva around 3 am local time Sunday, and envisions several key steps.
Although the exact details of the deal have not been made public, negotiators have indicated that Iran will stop enriching uranium beyond 5%, the level it can be used for weapons research, as well as cooperate with the international community to give greater access to nuclear inspectors in monitoring its sites.
US President Barack Obama acclaimed the event, calling it an "important first step", and vowing his country will committedly work towards reaching a "comprehensive agreement" in the coming months.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, on his part, hailed the deal as "opening new horizons," and stressed that it was made possible by Iranian's vote for a "moderate political course" in presidential elections over the summer.
Senior representatives of Russia, Germany, China and India have also joined in expressing their satisfaction at the agreement.
US Secretary of State John Kerry had issued a statement in advance, contrarily arguing that the agreement was in Israel's best interests.
