Former Bulgarian ruling party GERB are playing highly anti-institutionally and their work is destructive, argued Bulgarian Parliament Speaker Mihail Mikov.
According to Mikov, with their recent moves, GERB are eroding parliamentarism in Bulgaria.
The former ruling party has tabled a no-confidence vote against the cabinet of PM Plamen Oresharski, but have chosen not to register for the debates Wednesday and Thursday.
The vote will be held anyway later Friday morning.
"GERB want to discredit and block the activity of Bulgaria's 42nd Parliament," said Mikov for Nova TV.
"The no-confidence vote, which is according to the Constitution is a supreme form of holding cabinet responsible, is now turning into a fiasco," added he.
According to Mikov, his own Bulgarian Socialist Party, which supports cabinet, would benefit the most form holding hypothetical snap elections.
However, he added that elections are bound to end in results very similar to those held May 12, and will thus prove ineffective for the country.
