Bulgarian Parliament Speaker Mihail Mikov has sent out letters to the leaders of all four parliamentary groups to consult them on when to call a special recess plenary sitting.
Bulgarian MPs went on recess until September 4 last Friday, but in the meanwhile Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev vetoed the state budget update just passed by Parliament.
Ruling Bulgarian Socialist Party and Movement for Rights and Freedoms stated that Parliament needs to convene sooner to review the President's veto.
Parliament chair Mikov, himself a socialist MP, called the emergency meeting for September 30.
But opposition and formerly ruling GERB party issued a statement calling for "immediate" special sitting to discuss the veto, gathering well over the 48 MPs signatures to make their call mandatory for the Speaker.
Friday Mikov informed the leaders of other parliamentary groups of GERB's request and asked all four leaders to specify which date appears as most reasonable to their group for a plenary sitting.
The Speaker is oblidged to call the sitting within one week of the request, but is not bound with a specific date.
