Volen Siderov, leader of Bulgarian ultranationalist party Ataka (Attack), has expressed his concerns with the results of Sunday’s general election in the country.
“I am concerned, since I do not see any way for a working government to be formed,” Siderov said.
The ultranationalist leader told a press conference early on Monday that his party is the only one that has “a clear program and ideas.” He called upon all other parties that obtained seats in Parliament to declare their intentions.
Siderov criticized the center-right GERB party of former PM Boyko Borisov for what he described as “massive vote-buying.” He did not rule out the possibility of fresh early elections taking place in the autumn.
Siderov also announced that his party will vote in favor of removing the immunity of controversial former Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov.
Volen Siderov spoke at a press conference two hours after midnight Monday in the aftermath of the May 12 early general elections in Bulgaria which ranked his party as the fourth strongest political formation in the country.
GERB came in first in the vote, the Bulgarian Socialist Party, BSP, is second, while the ethnic Turkish Movement for Rights and Freedoms is third.
It seems at the moment that these will be the only 4 formations to enter the next Parliament.
