Bogdan Milchev was announced Thursday as the new Director of Bulgarian Capital Sofia's traffic police.
Until now, Milchev was in charge of mass event security within the Sofia's Directorate of the Interior
On Wednesday, six of the heads of the traffic police in Sofia, led by former director Vanyo Stoevski were sent into retirement by the country's Interior Ministry.
Stoevski's Deputy, Tencho Tenev, Chief Inspector Lybka Marinova, as well as three other minor minor employees, were also retired.
"Do a poll in Sofia about whether traffic cops take bribes and, if not at least 80% of the people answer positively, then I will answer this question," Bulgarian Prime Minister commented on the dismissal earlier Thursday.
On Wednesday, within a couple of hours, the Bulgarian government saw the resignation of Transport Minister Alexander Tsvetkov, the resignation of Deputy Economy Minister in charge of energy Mariy Kosev, as well as the finalization of the dismissal of National Social Security Institute head Hristina Mitreva.
