Diplomatic Tensions: Russia Expels British Military Attaché from Moscow
In response to Downing Street's accusation of sponsoring espionage and hacking attacks on British officials, Russia has expelled Britain's military attaché in Moscow
British expats living in the Bulgarian village of Avren have founded a society to defend their rights and pressure local authorities to fulfill their duties to citizens.
Some 20 British families live in Avren nearby second-biggest Bulgarian city of Varna on the Black Sea coast, reports bTV.
Some of the difficulties they are facing include poor infrastructure, disturbances of electricity supply and general non-cooperation on the part of authorities – the same things that local Bulgarian residents have to deal with.
The British citizens living in Avren said it is their hope to help Bulgarian local authorities be more open to citizens and thus to make all citizens heard.
They stated they would all register to vote in upcoming local elections in the fall of 2011 and even hope to have a representative from their ranks in the local authorities.
