Stability Reigns: Sofia Real Estate Market Thrives Despite Uncertain Times

A man, 40, had been gunned down late Saturday evening in front of an apartment building in the Sofia Obelya district.
The information was announced by the Bulgarian TV channel bTV Sunday, saying the man with the nickname Vasko Obelskiya (Vasil from Obelya) had a criminal record and was the owner of several pawn shops.
He had been attacked by two masked gunmen around 11:30 pm in front of his apartment building when trying to get home. Doctors from the Military Medical Academy were unsuccessful in their attempts to save his live. The investigation in the case continues.
Meanwhile, nine people have been listed in the course of 12 hours in the Sofia emergency hospital Pirogov with injuries from fights occurring in different districts of the Bulgarian capital.
The hospital's press center informs the injured sought help between 5 pm Saturday until 6 am Sunday.
Two remain in the hospital – a 26-year-old man with a concussion he suffered inside his home in the Nadezhda district, and a 27-year-old man, also with a concussion and a broken jaw after being attacked by unknown assailants in the Ovcha Kupel district.
In addition to those beaten in fights, there have been several other incidents. A man, 47, had been transferred in the wee hours Sunday from the hospital in the northwestern city of Vratsa after being paralyzed in a fall from a gymnastics bar.
Two are in critical condition from traffic accidents – a man, 70, has been hit by a car on Sofia's central Tsar Simeon Street and is listed with head trauma and a broken hip; another man, 37, is listed with broken ribs and lung trauma, after hitting with his bike a pedestrian, 62, on Lomsko Shosse in Sofia. The latter is also in Pirogov in stable condition.
