Five men have been apprehended by the police in Copenhagen and Sweden for planning a terrorist attack on the Danish Jyllands-Posten daily paper which printed cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad.

The attack was reportedly going to be carried out in the near days.

Before the detainment, the Swedish and the Danish police had done a vast collaborative operation. A Tunisian citizen, two Swedish citizens, one of whom born in Lebanon, and an Iraqi asylum seeker have been busted in Denmark. Three of them have arrived in Denmark from Seden on December 28 and 29.

Meanwhile, one more arrest has been done in Sweden, of another Swedish citizen with Tunisian origin.

Earlier in December, one person was killed and two others hurt in a busy street in Stockholm, Sweden by two blasts, believed to be a failed terrorist attack

Newspaper Jyllands-Posten has been target of several terror attack threats since it published the drawings five years ago.
