Messaging company Viber announced on Monday it has appointed Daniela Ivanova as business development manager for Central and Eastern Europe.
The company said in a statement Ivanova's initial focus would be on Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia, Greece, and Hungary - the biggest Viber markets in terms of statistics and development potential.
This follows Viber's move in August to set up its CEE representation office in Bulgaria's capital Sofia. The company has 27 million unique users in CEE alone, out of a total number of 0.6 billion.
Yaron Schechtman, Director of Business Development at Viber, however, is quoted as saying in a statement that the number of users in the region is growing at an exceptional pace and Ivanova's appointment is key to preserving the trend.
Her main task will be to work for establishing partnerships at a local level that meet the needs of local users to improve feedback and help Viber improve its services.
