Following the last session of Bulgaria's 42nd National Assembly late Monday, the metal fences surrounding the building of the Parliament have been taken down.
The barricades were built overnight on November 13 in the heat of the mass anti-government protests that began in the summer of 2013. As most metal railings around the Parliament building were pushed down by demonstrators the day before, the police put up stronger fences.
Dismantling of the barricades started hours after the end of the last parliamentary session on 4 August, Nova Tv reports.
The metal railings have surrounded the Parliament building for more than a year now, due to the large-scale protests across Bulgaria that grew into a movement calling for the cabinet to resign.
