Lot 1 of Bulgaria's southwestern highway Struma – leading from Sofia to Greece – might be completed ahead of schedule, according to Simeon Peshov, President of construction firm Glavbolgarstroy.
Peshov explained Tuesday that the deadline for the completion of the first lot of the Struma Highway is August 30, 2013, but that the builders might be ready by June 1, 2013.
Peshov spoke at the signing of the contract for the planning and construction of Lot 2 of the Struma Highway, which was held at the building of the Bulgarian Regional Development Ministry.
"In November 2012, the road was inspected. Considerable work is yet to be done on the bridge sections. As soon as the weather allows it, we will be laying the final layers of asphalt," the Glavbolgarstroy President said.
