Bulgarian Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, has reiterated his praise for firefighters, who took part in the effort to extinguish the wildfire in the Vitosha mountain, near the capital Sofia.
Speaking Thursday at the official ceremony to mark the professional day of Bulgarian police/Interior Ministry, Borisov said that the firemen have done an outstanding job in taming the blaze and making tracts.
"I turn to them with great love as friends and colleagues, because I am an expert in the sector," the PM, who is a former firefighter and has a PhD in Fire Rescue, said.
He then proceeded to address his right hand, Deputy PM and Interior Minister, Tsvetan Tsvetanov, commenting on Tsvetanov's earlier statements that media criticize too much the work of the police with the following words:
"Journalists who serve the mafia are not journalists. Don't be angry at them. Today is a holiday and we will only say nice things. The polls and the ratings don't matter either; what matters is what people are saying. Criticism does not matter when we constantly bust illegal drugs – 4.2 metric tons just several days ago, now 12.5 tons. These are drugs for hundreds of millions in cash."
GERB leader Boyko Borissov reacted to the fall of the Zhelyazkov government during a live broadcast on his official Facebook page, following the mass protests across the country.
