Bulgaria's Construction Slumps by 10% Feb 2012 Y/Y

Bulgaria's construction sector registered a 10% decrease year on year in February 2010, according tot the country's National Statistical.

A 15.3% year-on-year decrease was registered in building construction, while civil engineering dropped by 2.4%.

February's construction production was 3.6% below the level of the previous month.

As compared to January 2012, February's construction of buildings in Bulgaria decreased by 3.5%, while civil engineering dropped by 3.8%.

According to NSI's data, each of the last 12 months has seen a year-on-year decrease of construction production, except for January 2012, when a 1.1% increase was registered in the sector thanks to the 6.3% increase in civil engineering activities.
