Grigor Dimitrov, the 19-year-old Bulgarian top tennis player from the southern city of Haskovo, keeps climbing up in the world ATP list, where he is now 56th.

After his participation in the ATP 500 Legg MasonTennis Classic in Washington, D. C., where he reached 3rd round, Bulgaria's best male tennis player moved up one slot to place 56, setting a personal record and a record for Bulgarian male tennis.

At the same time, Bulgarian top female tennis player Tsvetana Pironkova landed 50th in the WTA ranking.

Elitsa Kostova scored the highest ranking in her career, 164th place and 2nd among the Bulgarian players.

This week Kostova, member of the Bulgaria's Fed Cup team, will take part in a USD 25 000 tournament in Koksijde, Belgium, where will play Lesley Kerkhove from the Netherlands.
