Bulgaria's top female tennis player Tsvetana Pironkova will face China's Peng Shuai in the first round of the USD 220,000 tournament in Hobart, Australia.

Pironkova, who ranks 35 in the world list, is seeded No.3 in the main draw of the tournament. This will be her first match for the season.

She has secured 1 point for the WTA list and USD 1,725. If she defeats Peng, the 23-year-old Bulgarian will gain 30 points and USD 2,950 more and will face the winner of the match between the Wild cards competitors.

Pironkova and Peng will face each other for the first time. The Chinese, who recently turned 25, ranks No.72.
