Bulgaria's best female tennis player, Tsvetana Pironkova, has lost by 4:6, 2:6 to the Italian Roberta Vinci in the second round of the tennis tournament Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo.
This was Pironkova's second loss to the 27-year-old Italian, who currently ranks 60th in the WTA ranking list.
For her participation in the tournament, the Bulgarian received USD 10,275 and gained 70 points, which would probably keep her on the 32nd position in the WTA ranking list.
However, the 23-year-old Bulgarian will remain on her position only if the tennis players, which rank lower than her, do not move much further in the Tokyo tournament.
Next week, Pironkova will play in the USD 4,5 M tournament in Beijing, China, which will feature 9 of the world's top 10 female tennis players.
The WTA leader, Serena Williams, will skip the tournament because she is still recovering from a leg injury.
The Bulgarian Football Union (BFU) has confirmed that it has entered into an exciting strategic partnership agreement with eSports Bulgaria.
