The construction of Bulgaria’s new National Sports Center is 18 days ahead of schedule, and will start on December 4-5, 2009.

This has been announced by Pavel Kalistratov, CEO of the Glavbolgarstroy construction company Tuesday during a meeting with the heads of 24 federations whose sports will be practiced in the new facility. Kalistratov said the deadline for opening the new sports hall was August 1, 2011.

The capacity of the hall will be 12 410 seats. It has been designed to be multi-functional, and in addition to sports events, will also be able to host concerts, exhibits, and other social happenings.

The construction of the new hall is part of the program of the GERB government to support sports and recreational activities.
