The leader of the Russian communists Genady Zyuganov, has declared that his party and himself were against the idea to close the Lenin mausoleum and bury Lenin's corpse, the Bulgarian Information Agency BGNES reported, citing Interfax.

The mausoleum is located on the Red Square in Moscow and is on of the capital's monuments reminiscent of the Soviet era.

"Such proposals are simply nonsense. These are ideas belonging to grave diggers," Zyuganov said.

The communist leader stated that Russian communists were going to use all means to protect the mausoleum of the prominent mastermind of the Great October Socialist Revolution.

Earlier, the Deputy Chair of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Ivan Melnikov also declared that the communists were going to apply all possible mechanisms to fight the initiative about Lenin's burial.

"This idea always emmerges when there is a crisis in order to turn people's attention away from the reality," Melnikov explained.
