MINERALBANK BANKRUPTCY CASE POSTPONED AGAIN

Business | April 3, 2002, Wednesday // 00:00

Socia District Court postponed yet one more time the case on siphoning Mineralbank because the witnesses did not turn up in court. The four witnesses, who were summoned to court, failed to give statements, since they were out of the country. A letter was read in court, in which experts asked for extending the period for carrying out a judicial-financial check, which is to verify the originality of the banks documents, presented as evidence in court. Under the case for Mineralbank bankruptcy the defendants are seven of the members on the bank's Board of Directors, who are currently on bail. The file was lodged in court by former Chief Prosecutor Ivan Tatarchev. Mineralbank AD was set up in 1980 for releasing state-loans. Later the bank was renamed Bank for Industrial Initiative Mineralbank.
