The Social Ministry granted the 100th credit of the Guarantee Fund for Microcredits to a family from the town of Montana. The loan is to be paid back over a five-year period of time with a six-month grace period. Social Minister Lidia Shuleva pointed once again that the micro crediting project will be expanded in yet another 77 municipalities as of April 1. Under the pilot project, which was launched November 1 2001, a total of 18 municipalities worst–hit by unemployment were included. Recently Minister Shuleva announced that the credits granted were to amount to BGN 1 M. About 50% of those who received the credits are agriculture workers. The Social Ministry submitted in the National Insurance Institute a list of the companies, which have been granted microcredtis so far. The move aims to check the registration and social insurances of the employees. The fulfillment of the conditions under which the credits have been granted will also be checked.
