BOSNIA, HERZEGOVINA NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR INFO ON AL-QAIDA MEETING

The information published in the media with allegations that a meeting of Al-Qaida took place in Sofia did not originate from any institution in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zelko Mirjanic said. He heads a parliamentary delegation from the federation that arrived on a visit in Bulgaria on Sunday. The government of Bosnia and Herzegovina will release official information on this issue, he added. The visiting MPs said on Monday they did not have any official data for an Al-Qaida meeting in Sofia, an event reported by the Associated Press, and dismissed these reports as speculations. On March 23, AP reported that Al-Qaida terrorists met in Sofia to plan attacks on embassies in Sarajevo, including against the US embassy, and on Americans in other European cities. The agency reportedly quoted a high-ranking Bosnian state official who demanded to stay anonymous. The MPs from Bosnia and Herzegovina met with many high-ranking Bulgarian officials.
