Palaeontologists announced they have discovered the skeleton of a whale that had lived five million years ago.
The discovery was made in a vineyard in Toskana, Italy in the beginning of the week.
"A group of palaeontologists found the remains of an ancient whale during excavations in the Castello Banfi area," spokeswoman of the Toskana wine cellar Daniela Vitodo said.
The region attracts many palaeontologists and archaeologists to make excavations there because according to them five million years ago it was the bed of a huge water basin.
An ancient dolphin's skeleton was found several years ago in the same area cloze to Penza, Vitodo informed.
