A Bulgarian district court has proceeded with the case against a teenager, who raped and murdered a young girl from the town of Yambol.
At the end of last year Miroslav Marinov, 18, who was arrested earlier for the murder of Eleonora Georgieva, 13, confessed to his crime.
He said he met the young girl in front of the block of flats where she lived. After an exchange of a few words and a scuffle, he dragged the girl to the basement, where he he raped and strangled her.
After the horrific murder, Marinov dumped the body in a corner and left. A neighbour found the body about four hours later, after the police had already announced a nation-wide search.
Prior to Tuesday's court session the parents of the killed girl demanded for a lifetime sentence.
