Bread and other paste products as well as potatoes seem to be the most preferred food for Bulgarians, as shown in an official survey.
The report by the National Statistic Institute showed Monday that a Bulgarian eats an average ten kilograms of bread every month.
Potatoes share in March was 2.6 kilos, while the consumption of vegetables was 2.6 kilos per person, together with 2.1 kilos of meat.
White cheese portions made for less than a kilogram per person, Monday's report showed.
In March, a Bulgarian household had an average income of BGN 470, or BGN 186 per person, the NSI revealed.
Most of those, traditionally, were spent on food, light drinks, housing, electricity, gas and other fuels.
