A total of fifty eight Bulgarians have been repatriated from Amsterdam on a charter flight, Consular Relations Directorate with the Foreign Ministry announced. The Bulgarians have been taken into custody by the Dutch police, charged with local laws infringement as well as illegal stay in Holland. Following the incident, the Foreign Minister Directorate called on all Bulgarian citizens traveling abroad to abide by the laws of the country they visit as well as the terms of their stay, so that the number of arrests and sentences may be decreased. This is the second time that a big group of Bulgarians has been extradited from a European country in the last year. In the summer of 2001 hundreds of Bulgarians from the Roma minority were driven back from Norway. They went there on a trip aiming to stay permanently in the country.
