Bulgarian Culture Hearth in Moscow "Put for Sale"

A Moscow building where the Bulgarian Culture Center is headquartered has been tabled for sale.

According to sources as quoted by the Bulgarian National Radio, the sale will be carried out by the Moscow municipality upon request by the Sofia municipal body.

Sofia municipality owns the property located in a glitzy part of the Russian capital.

The recently elected Sofia Mayor Boyko Borisov visited Moscow in December, but then he did not mention any plans to sell the building, which favours a diplomatic status.

Asked to comment, Bulgarian Ambassador to Moscow Ilian Vassilev said he was waiting for instructions from Sofia and there might be afterwards a meeting with the Moscow governors.

But the chairman of Sofia governors denied the reports saying any deal on property sale must first be approved by the municipal council. "There has not been such motion," Vladimir Kisyov said.
