MPs from the United Democratic Forces tabled in Parliament a draft resolution against the idea for partial, political accession of Bulgaria to EU. The Bulgarian Prime Minister Saxe-Coburg said that the European Commission should allow to Romania and Bulgaria to be integrated “ politically” before their economic integration in his address to the prime ministers of the member states of the Central European Initiative in Trieste on November 23. Parliament postponed the debate on euro integration policy on December 12 because of the tax bills discussion. The draft resolution tabled by the MPs envisages that Parliament assigns to the Cabinet to present national position on the participation of Bulgaria in the preparation of a convention for the future of Europe and for the next intergovernmental conference of the European Commission in 2004. The document calls on the Cabinet to look for suitable guarantees Bulgaria to become member of the European Commission.
