US Ambassador to Bulgaria Richard Miles congratulated President –elect Parvanov on his election victory on behalf of the American President George Bush. Both officials met on November 30. They discussed the military reform in Bulgaria and the participation of Bulgaria in the anti-terrorist coalition. After the meeting, Parvanov told journalists that the new Bulgarian ambassador to US should be appointed after his inauguration on January 22. Incumbent Bulgarian Ambassadors to the United States Philip Dimitrov announced he would resign upon president-elect Georgi Parvanov’s stepping into power in January 2002.
