US MOTOROLA PLANS TO SET UP RESEARCH CENTER

Motorola, US Telecom equipment producer and supplier of Globul, Bulgaria’s GSM operator, plans to set up a research and development center in Bulgaria, Lyubomir Minchev, director of Motorola’s subcontractor in Bulgaria Telelink, said on November 29. The center will work closely with local universities. The company has been attracted by the opportunity to build telecom network under TETRA’s standards for the Bulgaria’s police, fire brigade and first aid medical services. Kevin Lossemore, Motorola’s Europe, Middle East and Africa President is expected to arrive in Bulgaria on November 30, 2001. He will hold talks with the Bulgarian Cabinet and will open Motorola’s first office in Bulgaria.
