FORMER MINISTER DID NOT KNOW ABOUT THREATS AGAINST ASSASSINATED EX PM

Lyubomir Nachev, former Interior Minister, had no information about threats against Andrey Lukanov. He said that on November 29 at the court’s sitting on the case of the ex PM’s murder. According to Nachev this is the first time he hears that the National Service Security (NSS) had received such signals in the winter of 1996. Lyubomir Nachev was Interior Minister from January 1995 till May 1996 when he resigned. Nachev claims the signal order has been signed by the then NSS director Yuliy Georgiev. Georgiev has ordered his deputy Pavel Nikolov to undertake operative measures for tracking down the ill-wishers, Nachev said.
