COMPENSATORY INSTRUMENTS TO BE TRADED ON BULGARIAN STOCK EXCHANGE

Compensatory instruments are to be traded on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange, Compensatory Instruments Deals Bill, approved by the Cabinet on November 29, envisages. Compensatory papers and compensatory bonds come under the heading of compensatory instruments. The Bill also provides for the establishment of a Compensatory Instruments National Register. Nikolay Vassilev, Deputy Prime Minister and Economy Minister said that a total of BGN 1-2 BLN of compensatory instruments are to be included. Another several million levs will be provided by the second stage of the privatization. After the Bill is adopted by Parliament, the Economy Ministry will propose a package of measures about the way the huge resource will be used. The Cabinet also approved the amendments to the Public Offer of Equities Act. In connection with information disclosure, the companies are to issue quarterly reports. Among the measures for shareholders protection is the introduction of the Investors Relations Director position.
