Greek President Konstantinos Stefanopoulos welcomed Bulgarian Foreign Minister Passy at the entrance of the President’s palace in Athens. The first thing Stefanopoulos told Passy was that he was surprised by the presidential elections results. “ We are a country full of surprises,” Passy responded. Earlier during the day, Passy met his Greek counterpart Georgios Papandreou. Greece will do everything possible so that Bulgaria joins NATO in 2002, the Greek Foreign Minister underscored. Both officials discussed the bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Greece, regional projects, the situation on the Balkans and the activities of the anti-terrorist coalition. Passy is on a two-day official visit to Greece.
