Parliament voted unanimously to terminate the credentials of Georgi Parvanov as MP of
Coalition For Bulgaria in connection with his election as President of the Republic on November 18, 2001.Parvanov will be inaugurated on January 22, 2002, when the term of office of incumbent President Petur Stoyanov expires. In his address to the MPs, the newly elected Bulgarian President expressed the hope that during his mandate Bulgaria will become NATO and EU member. Parvanov noted that governance through maximum consensus is the recipe for success of the institutions and that this will be his fundamental creed as head of state.
