No assassination attempt was made against Serbia's President Boris Tadic, the country's Interior Minister Dragan Jocic said at a special press conference. The driver of a vehicle that crashed into a presidential motorcade turned out to be a local employee of the US embassy. The security department of the US embassy in Belgrade informed the Interior Ministry about the identity of the driver, Jocic said. The incident occurred Wednesday in downtown Belgrade when a black Audi crashed into Tadic's car. A car of the president's cortege hit the assailants' car thus obstructing its way to Tadic's car. Boris Tadic was not injured in the attack.
