The lotto mania that obsessed Bulgaria over the last few days will keep on spreading as the record-high BGN 3.3 million jackpot of the state lottery remained intact.

People willing to try their luck were queuing up for lotto cards across the country, while, media reported that people from neighbour countries were making trips to Bulgaria to take part in the lottery.

The country's largest sum so far was three million, accumulated in 1999.

The biggest jackpot won so far was in 2001 and it was BGN 2.83 million.

Local papers reported that cards sold by now covered almost 18% of the possible numerical combinations. Usually at 20-25% the odds are in favour of someone hitting the jackpot.
