JK Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter books, has announced that she is expecting her third child next year.
The author, 38, broke the news on her website. She already has a daughter Jessica and a son David, who was born last year.
On her website, Rowling said: "I am really delighted to say that I am expecting a third baby, who is due next year. I always wanted three children, so I could not be happier."
The author said pregnancy would not affect the release of the new Potter book. "Let me reassure you that book six remains well on track," she said. "Fingers crossed of course, I don't foresee any baby-related interruptions or delays. "
The author recently revealed the title of the sixth book in the Harry Potter series would be Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. Rowling has sold more than 260 million copies of the children's book series so far, with the boy wizard's adventures being made into a franchise of popular films.
