BUSINESSMEN ASK TAXES TO BE NEGOTIATED

`The state taxes, collected from business, equal half of the budget revenues from profit taxes,` Bozhidar Danev, chairman of the Bulgarian Industrial Association (BIA).said on October 12. `The taxes imposed hidden levies on the companies,` Danev added. The budget envisages to collect BGN 234 M from taxes and for the previous year the sum accounted for BGN 197 M. In Bulgaria, 65 tariffs are enforced, excluding the municipal ones. 14 ministries and other institutions are occupied in collecting taxes. The association insists the amounts of the taxes to be concerted with the business in advance. The tax on gas transfer is 100,000 and apart from that - another 110,000 levs for transit. Firms have to pay BGN 200,000 for electricity production with capacities exceeding 1,500 MW and 200,000 more for the transfer, and additional BGN 90,000 for its distribution. The Sofia Heating Plant pays BGN 40,000 for the license to produce heating power, and BGN 60,000 for the transfer.
