ISPA Allots EUR 19,500 for Purifying Facility

The European Union allotted some EUR 19,500 for building a purifying facility in the Bulgarian town of Pazardzik, some 109 kilometres south of capital Sofia. The initiative is part of the Instrument for Structural Policies for Pre-Accession (ISPA) program, which also provided funds for building six waste depots in the country so far. The company to carry out the Pazardzhik project will be selected by the end of 2003 and so far some 15 firms have shown interest to bid.
