Former Ugandan dictator Idi Amin died, hospital officials in Saudi Arabia said Saturday. Amin, who was variously described as 78 or 80 years old, was in a coma at King Faisal Specialist Hospital in the Red Sea port city of Jeddah since July 18. The former dictator was forced from power in Uganda in 1979 by Tanzanian troops and Ugandan exiles following one of the bloodiest regimes in African history. Human rights groups claim up to 400,000 people were killed under his rule.
