Bulgarian troops who are projected to leave for an Iraqi neighbor country in September will face considerable risk, Bulgaria's Defence Minister Nikolay Svinarov said Thursday.
Bulgaria had never before sent so many soldiers to take part in a mission, he added.
The thirty-strong Bulgarian avant-garde left for Kuwait on July 26 to "pave the way" for the rest of Bulgaria's peacekeepers.
The minister plans to pay an unofficial visit to the base of the Iraq-bound battalion before the troops leave the country.
