Over BGN 112 M Embezzled in Bulgaria in 2002

Damages of over BGN 112 M have been caused to Bulgaria over the last year, a report of the country's Agency for Interior Financial Control shows.

The agency mainly looks into the work of the structures managing Bulgaria's money received from EU pre-accession funds and programs.

The agency has carried out over 4,000 checks over the last year and disclosed obscured state receipts that total BGN 7 M. It also found materials misusages for BGN 3 M and other violations of the finance regulations in the country.
