Bulgaria's Parliament ratified the annual finance agreement under the EU SAPARD program. It gives Bulgaria some EUR 56 M of which the country may benefit by the end of 2006.
SAPARD aims to help EU candidate countries deal with the problems of the structural adjustment in their agricultural sectors and rural areas, as well as in the implementation of the acquis communautaire concerning the CAP (Common Agricultural Policy) and related legislation.
This is the fourth agreement that Bulgaria signed under the SAPARD program. The program started in Bulgaria in July 2001 and some BGN 115 M have been put into practise so far.
