Winners of Bulgaria's "Green Tree of Hope" national essay competition were awarded Thursday at the National Theater Ivan Vazov's cafe. More than 200 high-school students from sixty Bulgarian cities and four villages vied for the prizes and were assessed by a jury, headed by Boyan Biolchev, Rector of Sofia University.
The contest was named after a story from the collection of Bulgaria's famous writer Yordan Radichkov entitled "Fierce Mood"(1965). It is part of the "Lovely North-west" project which aims to popularize culture of North-west Bulgarian region. Patron of the project is Yordan Radichkov.
