Economic Interests Suspected over Pavlov's Death

Interior Minister Georgi Petkanov stated that the motives for the murder of Bulgarian billionaire Iliya Pavlov seemed to be economic more than political.

We work on all types of versions, Minister announced.

Iliya Pavlov, president of Bulgarian's biggest industrial company, MG Corporation, who was the richest man in Bulgaria, was killed with one shot Friday night.

Minister Petkanov declined to comment if there was a link between Pavlov's death, the shooting in Varna against the car of his partner Sevdalin Stratiev, which came a few hours later, and the murder of the Moldavian citizen Stepan Rubakov on Saturday.

An operative meeting of all the services, which work on the two murders, was held in Sofia Office of the Interior Ministry. It was announced that the cartridge with which Iliya Pavlov has been shot dead is found. His wife will not be interrogated.
