Finnish President Tarja Halonen arrived late on Monday on a three-day official visit at the invitation of her Bulgarian counterpart Georgi Parvanov. This is the first trip to Bulgaria of a Finnish president since the fall of communism.
During her stay, Halonen will hold a tкte-а-tкte meeting with Bulgaria's President Parvanov who initiated the visit. The Finish president will also meet with Prime-Minister Saxe-Coburg and Parliament Speaker Ognyan Gerdzhikov.
Together with her Bulgarian counterpart, Halonen will open a Bulgarian-Finish business forum.
She will also visit the country's second biggest city Plovdiv and attend the presentation of a new Bulgarian edition of the Finish national epos Kalevala.
