World Bank Director to Bulgaria Andrew Vorking had a meeting with the Bulgarian government. `If the new government continues the reforms which Bulgaria had already started, I am absolutely sure that the bank`s intention is to release the maximum financing for Bulgaria in the next three years, up to 750 million USD,` the World Bank Country Director said. He and the Bulgarian Ministers discussed the Country Assistance Strategy for the next three years proposed by the World Bank. The World Bank will continue to provide loans to Bulgaria, technical assistance and consultancy in the form of various studies and reports. Vorkink introduced to the Bulgarian Cabinet Mr Oscar de Bruyn Kops, the new World Bank Resident Representative in Sofia. The World Bank official said that on October he will be relocated from Washington, D.C. to Zagreb from where he will continue to act as World Bank Country Director for Romania, Bulgaria and Croatia. Deputy Prime Minister and Social Minister Lidia Shouleva and Andrew Vorkink signed an agreement for a 370,000 USD grant floated by the Japan Social Development Fund. The money will go to the poorest municipalities in Bulgaria that have difficulties in getting financial assistance from other sources.
